Experience with Lowe's - Delivery


I am writing this in the hopes that someone from Lowe's will read it. This is the sum of our experiences with Lowe's to date. Some great, and others quite poor. We have spent over $6600 this year at Lowe's...on major purchases, we have been quite disappointed.
1. Purchased refridgerator for $1000. It did not work. Had to wait for a week for a repair person. They fixed it (fix lasted 2 hours). Called the next day. Was on hold (no kidding) for over 45 minutes. Got another repair appointment for another week later. They could not get one sooner (waited for supervisor for the above 45 mins. None came on so I hung up). Called the Lowe's store. They were great! I picked out a new refridgerator and they comped the extra cost! Sang your praises. Then, the fridge came in early, We called back (more than 6 times) to reach someone in delivery and let them know we wanted it sooner. No luck. We had to wait. Oh, another fact: the 2nd repair guy had to call technical support--then told me it would take 6-10 more days to get the part to fix the refridgerator that kept freezing our food in the non-freezer part. Really? 3 weeks+ for paying over $1K?. Glad to get rid of it. New fridge is working, but what a mess.

2. Ordered pallet and a half of edging stones. It was piled up on one pallet (scary high). Loaded on to the truck okay (scary though). Then, a wind came up and blew the iron gate into our truck..dented (nice ding) and scratched the side of the truck. Thank God our daughter was not in between the gate and the truck at the time it happened. While we waited for the manager to take pics, we unloaded the pallet into the truck half way so that it was not so high. It was clearly unsafe. Three weeks later we have not received the $1K check to cover the damages (though it has been said it's on the way by the case worker).

3. Ordered laminate flooring ($3K) and paid for it over 6 weeks ago. Told it would come in on 4/22. Called and it was not in.. Then was told it would come in on 4/24 (really? Easter Sunday? "Yes, Easter Sunday it will be in"). No, it was not in...Lowe's does not even get deliveries on Sunday. Two more calls in...no idea where it is. Get follow up call: storm destroyed the area of the plant that makes some of the needed flooring. Get a call a week later from a freight company "Ma'am, we are delivering parts of your order to your house tomorrow. It's 740 Lbs. Will you be there to unload it? If we unload it on to your driveway it will cost $60). What? Please do not deliver it and call Lowes ...another week later...flooring is finally in (Lowes associate was wonderful and very apologetic for everything). I pick it up the day it arrives. Here's the kicker! It has to be in our house for 3 days...we rush to get it, and the installation company cannot even get to us for 2 weeks! Why did they not schedule it sooner? it will have been two months since we paid for the flooring before it is in our kitchen...now, it's blocking up our dining room for 2 weeks.

I need to say that we are not too happy about the series of poor customer expereinces we have had. One could have even been life threatening to our child and that is simply UNACCEPTABLE!

These are my facts over the past two months in spending several thousand dollars in your store. Would you come back to my store if you had those experiences?
