Poor customer service

For a long time, I have been dissatisfied with the poor selection at Lowes , even with the most basic common items, always being required to go to other places to get what I need. This frustration is enhanced by the fact that Lowe's has the best & most convenient locations. But I have never felt compelled to give a negative review until my experience today. I only needed a 2x4 board to make a repair, so after measuring what I needed, I went to Lowe's on Paseo Del Norte NE in Albuquerque to get it cut. Of course the only help that was visible was always scurrying away. I went to an adjoining dept. & a lady instructed me to "go get my board & wait by the saw". I had wanted a recommendation on what type of lumber to select for my exterior repair but saw that wasn't going to happen so I made my selection myself & proceed to wait by the saw. After the announcement was made that assistance was needed at the saw, nobody came. Another young girl walked by & asked if I needed help & I said that another woman had said that she would get someone to meet me at the saw. Finally after waiting I decided that I would just make the cut myself & proceeded to the checkout (just East of the contractors desk). The young girl at the check out was the same girl that had observed me waiting at the saw. I expained that no one ever came to make the cut. She couldn't have expressed any less concern & just gave me a total. I knew what was coming & sure enough she just handed me my change without a word. No "I'm sorry no one helped you" & certainly not a "Thank you". I just stared her down in the silence until she finally said "have a good one". Maybe if I didn't work in sales & made pleasing customers my passion, I wouldn't notice or care when I get treated this way. But it felt so completely rude, that I will go out of my way to not go to any Lowe's if possible & drive 20 minutes farther to the nearest Home Depot where I never have this frustration. If checkout personnel aren't even trained to thank customers for their business then I hate to reward that establishment by going good there. I have bought grills, blinds, appliances, tile, electrical, tools, & outdoor plants & furniture so it's not likeep I just bought a $5 board. This happened on Mon. 12/5/16 @ 3:15 pm.
