terrible installation
On 8/16/07 I paid $1920.59 for Lowe's to professionally install my new kitchen countertops. They came out and measured my kitchen and then after I picked out a design; Lowe's installers put the countertops in. However they didn't install it correctly and I am furious about this. I've always noticed that one end of the countertop is bowed and looks terrible but didn't know the reason why .. I am obviously not a contractor or builder and honestly I thought there was something wrong with my dishwasher. My built in dishwasher is at the end of my countertop and the dishwasher is totally open on one side but it doesn't show because my stove sits there. However there is absolutely no framework there to support my countertops which are now bowed at that end. As a result, I'm now ordering new tops from Home Depot (will never go back to Lowe's) and their installer told me I needed a support built in there which should have been put in there last time but Lowe's never bothered to do or even tell me about. When I called the mgr @ Lowes they told me it was past the warranty and I should have complained during the warranty. I said it was put in wrong from the get go and if they had installed correctly a complaint would have never been necessary. They then had the nerve to say how did I know the Home Depot rep knew what they were talking about. I believe they owe me compensation. This was at the Lowes store in Monroe, Michigan. Lowe's don't have their receipts back from that far :P but I have my receipt.
